The GM’s pilots did there best to defend themselves as best they could against the Zeon onslaught. The GM being rammed was slammed against the wall as the other was cut in two. The other GM’s and ball units continued to fire as the tried to repel the invading zaku’s.

As the Zeon forces were focused on attacking Von Braun, the Laika and the Zvezdochka arrived behind them.
Lieutenant Vic barked out orders over the intercom. "Zvezdochka, I want you to launch your GMs and get ready to engage the enemy. The Laika will give you cover fire with its Particle Cannons."
Two GMs flew out of the Zvezdochka. On board the Laika Vic stood up from his seat. "I'm going out there with one of the GMs on board. Warrant Officer Palwick will be in command of the Laika while I'm gone." He nodded to the helmsman and made his way off the bridge.
Vic and two other mobile suit pilots then made their way to the Laika's three GMs, getting them ready for the battle.

"Chancellor, we've detected an enemy ship from the rear!"
"You've got to be joking? No Minovsky particles?"
"No sir, they are as clear as the sun."
"About face!" the Guilt and the Sten began to turn about, the 7 suits moving to stand on the hulls of their ships.

Now that Dinlet had landed on the surface, his cruisers could no longer risk bombarding the colony, they began to turn their attention towards the incoming Salamis, the eight Zaku remaining behind readied for combat.

The two GMs began firing their bazookas at the closest Zeon ship while the Laika proceeded to fire in the direction of the enemy with its Particle Cannons. Vic and his two fellow pilots launched their GMs and positioned themselves around their Bazooka wielding comrades.
"Okay, we're going to give our friends some cover fire. Ready your weapons!"
The three new GMs raised their machine guns and aimed at the Zakus that were on the hulls.

Matt finishes powering up his GM and activates his beam saber which he swings at Dinlet's Zaku.
