Arrival of the Laika

"We are arriving at Luna 2 now, sir," said one of the crewmembers of the Laika.

"Excellent. Prepare to land," Vic ordered.

"Aye aye, sir!"

After the Laika landed safely, Vic proceeded to address his crew.

"Attention, all hands. We have landed at Luna 2. Our orders are to establish a base for the Earth Federation. These orders come directly from the General, so I don't think I have to stress the importance of this mission. I want us to accomplish our goal as quickly and efficiently as possible. Make the General proud, folks. Ensign Tallerman, out."

[General Jones]

General was busy entertain the elite of Las Vegas and of other cities and around the North American region as he got notice of the Ensign’s success. He gave a small smirk as he nodded to the nose and went back to the party.

Vic sat at his desk in his private quarters, reading up on the Federation's activities on Earth. Apparently General Jones' plan to set up a base in North America went swimmingly.

Excellent, Vic thought to himself. If everything is this easy, we'll have no problem taking care of the Zeon forces. He chuckled to himself at that little bit of wishful thinking.

He looked up as he heard his door opening and saw one of his troops enter. She threw up a quick salute. "Sir!" she said. "I have the progress reports you requested."

Vic saluted her back, then said, "Thank you very much. How are things looking?"

"Everything is green, sir. Currently we are ahead of schedule."

"Excellent. Any sign of Zeon forces?"

"No sir. This sector is clear."

Vic nodded, then smiled to himself. "That's good news....I think once we're done with construction we should take a page from General Jones' book and have us a little celebration. What do you think?"

"That sounds great, sir."

"Good. Return to your post and I'll make the announcement."

"Yes sir."

As she exited his quarters, Vic turned to his intercom to speak to the rest of the crew.

"Attention, all hands. This is Ensign Tallerman. I'd just like to announce that since our efforts to construct a base here on Luna 2 couldn't be going any better. I'd also like to announce that when we are finished, we're going to have celebration on behalf of this small victory for the Federation. Ensign Tallerman, out."

As Vic when back to reading Federation news reports, he wondered if his next assignment would be this easy.

[General Jones]

General Jones managed to get away from his gala hhe was hosting for the canadian elite as he sneaked into his office and called in Ensign Vic "This is General Jones to the laika, do you read?"

Shortly after his crew finished their duties on Luna 2, the Laika picked up a call from General Jones. He excused himself from the small celebration he was throwing for his troops to answer the General.

"This is Ensign Tallerman reading you loud and clear, General. How are you enjoying Canada?

[General Jones]

"not good" the General replied "I need you to leave a skelton crew at the base and head for the moon, its under attack and i want you and Capt matt to attack the zeon from the rear" he paused to let it sink in "Try to sneak in and hit the hard before they even know it."

"Roger. We'll make our way to the moon as quicky as we can. Tallerman out."

After he got off the line with the General, Vic gave himself a minute to collect his thoughts. He then announced the plan over the intercom.

"Attention! Zeon forces have begun an attack on the moon. A small number of you will stay here on Luna 2 to maintain the base. The rest of us have orders to try to hit them with a sneak attack. Man the battlestations and prepare for launch."

Vic then made his way to the bridge.
